Refund and Cancellation Policy

This policy forms part of our Terms of Use. It explains how payment, cancellation and refunds work for our services.
Nothing is sold through this website
You cannot buy a service on this site. Every engagement begins with a signed engagement agreement that names the service, the scope, the fee and the period covered. That agreement, not this page, sets the commercial terms between us.
Where this policy and your engagement agreement differ, your engagement agreement governs.
Recurring advisory fees
CFO Advisory is billed as a fixed monthly fee for the month ahead. Fees already billed cover work already scheduled and are not refundable. Cancelling stops future billing from the next cycle, on the notice period set out in your agreement, and we complete the period you have paid for.
Tax preparation and project work
Tax preparation and other fixed price work is earned as it is performed. Once preparation has begun, the fee for the work completed is not refundable, whether or not you choose to file. Where work has not started, we will tell you plainly what has and has not been done and settle accordingly.
Out of scope work
Work outside the written scope is quoted and agreed before it starts. You will not receive a charge for something you did not agree to in writing.
Failed payments
If a scheduled payment fails we will try again and let you know. If it cannot be collected, work pauses until the payment goes through. We do not charge a fee for a failed payment.
Duplicate and unauthorized charges
If you were charged twice for the same thing, or you see a charge you did not authorize, email us and we will investigate and put right anything that was our error. That is the one situation where money goes back, because it was never owed.
Where the law says otherwise
Nothing in this policy takes away a right you have under the law that cannot be waived. If consumer law where you live entitles you to a remedy, that law applies regardless of what this page says.
